A.T.C. Cadet Makes

Solo Flight The beneficial training available to youths in the Air Training Corps was further emphasised yesterday when Corporal Kevin Brown, who, .having completed his eight hours instructional flying, made his initial soln flight. A further two cadets, namely Corporal Victor Graham and A.C. 2 Des Kelly expect to make their first solo flights within the next few days. There have been five cadets selected to fly, comprising three at Greymouth, one at Hokitika, and one at Westport. That there has been a satisfactory response shown in the recent A.T.C. recruiting campaign was no doubt due to the fact that the youths have as their ambition that of one day becoming pilots. __
