Soviet Opening Black Market Shops in Berlin Sector
(Rec. 10.0). LONDON, Nov. 15. The Soviet authorities will to-day open their own black market shops in Berlin, says the Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent. Food and clothing will be sold from two official stores without coupons at black market prices. The Russian-licensed newspapers, announcing this innovation as a “new epoch in trade”, said that the new stores would strike a mortal blow at the black market in the interests of the working people. •
