A BIGAMIST PLEADS GUILTY

P.A. NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 15. Changing his plea Of not guilty, made at the Lower Court hearing, William Reginald Orr, in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth, admitted offences of bigamy and of making a false declaration under the Marriages Act. He was remanded for sentence. Orr’s offences are that, having been married at Edgecumbe, Whakatane, on November 5, 1938, he went through a form of marriage at New Plymouth on August 3, 1948, and that, at New Plymouth on August 2, 1948, he falsely declared that his name was William Harland, and that he was a bachelor.
