FOOD RIOT ON SHIP BY CIRCUS ELEPHANTS AND OTHER ANIMALS

SAN FRANCISCO, November 11. The master of the' Swathmore .Victory radioed to-day, after a Navy flying boat had parachuted supplies to the ship’s rebellious animals, “the elephans are happier now, thank goodness”. The ship had radioed for help yesterday because the elephants were “kicking the ship to pieces”, and the bears, wildcats, monkeys and birds were in a rebellious mood, as a result of the short rations. The Navy immediately sent its biggest flying boat, the 83-ton Marshall Mars, with water-proofed bales of oats, hay and worms, which the sailors from the Swathmore Victory retrieved from the sea after a frantic 90 minutes in the lifeboats.
