67-YEAR-OLD MAN WITH POLIO
WAIPUKURAU, Nov. 12. A married man, aged 67, and a single woman, aged 20, both from the Waipukurau borough, -have been admitted to the hospital as positive ca'ses of poliomyelitis. These admissicns bring the number of positive cases in the area since the epidemic began to seven. NEARLY 1000 CASES WELLINGTON, Noy. 12. The Health Department stated tins afternoon that the total numb-r m poliomyelitis cases in .Jealam. from the outbreak of the epidemic un November 1. 1947. to the end of September, 1948, was 862. . . The approximate Dominion total up to last night is unofficially \given as 983.
