Eire Expects to Keep Association with the Commonwealth
(Rec. 10.45). LONDON, Nov. 11. Patrick McGilligan, Minister 0? Finance in the Eire Government, speaking in Dublin, said: “We are no lovers of isolation. It has no attractions for us. We find the Commonwealth association to be something worth having.” He said that more sincere friendship was 1 found to exist between the British Government and the Eire Government in their trade talks in London last June than has ever been known before. There is no reason why that friendliness and understanding should not continue. “The freer we become, the freer we shall become real friends of Britain and of the Commonwealth," he added.
