PRESBYTERIANS WANT HALF MILLION FUND

WELLINGTON, Nov. 9. To provide for a 10-year expansion programme in the Presbyterian Church the General Assembly to-day apnroved the launching of a £509.000 appeal. The Rev. A. C. McLean said it had been found that the originally recommended sum of £350,000 was in T d he U appeal will be launched, it possible, in September 1949. The allocations for the various funds are:--Church extension (church sites balk for youth work, manses) £250,Gu0 home ministry _ contingency fun , £30,000; theological education 120.000; overseas missions £75,000: Macr missions £50,000; loan fund £75,000.
