FRENCH FEARS THAT GERMANS MAY REVIVE MILITARY POTENTIAL IN RUHR

EFFECT OF ANGLO-AMERICAN DECISION (Rec. 10.30) LONDON, November 11. The French Government not object to the interim arrangement which the British and Americans have evolved for the ownership of the Ruhr coal, iron and steel industries, says the Tinies diplomatic correspondent. What it objects to is the provision by which the British and Americans leave it to a freely-elected German Government of the future to decide the final form of ownership. The German Government’s decision in the matter should, the French Government thinks, be subject to the approval of the occupying Powers. Otherwise, it foresees, in the event of the industries being nationalised, the expropriation of important French and Belgian interests in the Ruhr industry, and an excessive concentration of power in the hands of a German Government.
