RIOTS FOLLOW ONE-MAN ELECTION IN HONDURAS
TEGUCIGALPA (Honduras) Oct. 11 Rioting broke out to-day at a number of points throughout Honduras, following yesterday’s Presidential elections wherein Juan Manuel Galvez, 61 the only candidate polled 225,000 votes but 45,000 abstained. The incidents are believed to have been inspired by the Liberal Party, whose leader, Angel Zuniga Huete, withdrew from the campaign a fortnight ago. One man was killed in an unsuccessful rebel attempt to capture the Toncontit airport. President Galvez Who succeeds President Andino on January 1 has declared that the country is under control.
