Seven Thousand Bombay Dockers Strike

(Reuter—N.Z.P. A.) BOMBAY, Oct. 12. Strong contingents of armed police guarded vital power (installations, o!iI pipelines and the Bombay docks after 7000 clock workers walked ou-t last night, 12 hours ahead lof the time 20,000 workers in the docks were due to strike for increased wages and imnroved conditions. The Government of India has appointed two conciliation boards to go into the dock workers demands. Following a seven-day strike in November last year the dock workers got a 33 per cent, rise in their weekly wage.
