FIERCE STORM BATTERS SOUTH AUSTRALIAN COAST

Sudden Violence (Rec. 9.0) ADELAIDE, Oct. 11 Sven people are missing in . two small boats which were caught in a sudden violent storm that has been lashing South Australia . for twentyfour hours. Search parties are looking for four men in a fishing craft, and three youths in a sailing boat. Both vessels put out yesterday in calm sunny weather which abruptly turned to a fierce gale with heavy rain and big seas. The Storm also demolished a wait at Bowden and a woman sustained serious injuries when concrete bricks rained down upon her. At Glenelg, waves broke over tne sea wall, submerging half a car park. Along the coast small boats were blown ashore .trees uprooted, and verandahs blown down. On the credit side, wheat experts say that the' rain has added £7,000,000 to the State harvest. LATER The four men and three youths missing in the two boats were found late this afternoon, safe and wed. At Port Augusta, winds whipped up the highest tide for fifteen years and waters sweeping inland flooded thirty aomes. Sandbag baricades, erected by householders, were submerged and water flowed down the main street town. Small boats floated over tm jetty, which was four to five *eet under water. „ In a violent blow at Moonta Bay, sixteen fishing boats were sunk.
