NOTES BY “WANDERER” Last Thursday’s games were acclaimed as a fitting finish to a piohtnhlP season’s play. Woolworths, was a decisive win for Comets. Woolworths failed to get going as well as they have done previously, and gave many fouls. A. Caldwell scored their only goal. Acker and Pragnell shot well for C °Th e e tS Women’s final was the best game of the evening and possibly of the season, Comets weie left standing as Star piled in several quick goals. Then the game became, a sSwgle, with both sides playing really well. Stars eventually won-•7l-90—Witli everyone satisfied. " In the men’s semi-final, Ratbags v. AT C a good game was witnessed, and; had Ratbags not been, minus Bennett, they would have given a much better account of themselves. Duffy and Ramsay were left too often In the clear to shoot foi A.T.C. and bring the final score to 24-1 . The men’s finals, between A.T.C. and Bobcats, was a demonstration of an almost perfect five-man defence, and quick break for goal, with good positional play, only marred by; over keenness. Had Bobcats been able to finish off all their movements, the score would have been phenomenal A TC. were hard put to make then two points, for, although their handling and potwork was excellent the back defence had them bluffed to the extent of 12-2.
