Early Morning Fire Alarm In Greymouth
After a rather shorter interval than that between the two previous calls, the Greymouth and Cobden Fire Brigades were this morning summonea by the siren at 1.30 o’clock, but not this time to a serious fire outbreak. It was one which occurred in a room at the staff quarters of Revington’s Hotel, the occupier, of which, a porter, had retired to bed some two hours previously. A mattress and some bedding were damaged. The Cobden Brigade as well as the Greymouth firemen were quickly on the scene. They ran out some hose, but found that they could do all the fire fighting required with the use of'a garden hose. There was no structural damage done, and the loss was inconsiderable.
