Australia Restricts Use of Aviation Fuel
SYDNEY, October 1.
The Prime Minister, Mr. J. B. Chifley, has announced that the Government has imposed limitations on the use of aviation fuel. It has been decided to hold consumption to the present monthly average of about 2,000,000 gallons. Mr. Chifley said that the Commonwealth Liquid Fuel Controller had been given discretionary powers to deal with special cases, and he could also provide a quota for a proposed service if an airlines licence had already been applied for.
The restrictions do not apply to international services.
