TIMARU ROBBERIES AT FOUR PREMISES
PA TIMARU, October 3. Four business premises were broken into late on' Friday night or early on Saturday at Timaru. The garage of Brown Wood Motors was one. An overcoat was stolen from a car, ana luggage from another, the property of Mrs H. Davey, of Dunedin. At the office of the Timaru Milling Company, £l5 in cash and three sheets of petrol coupons were stolen. • A small amount of petty cash was take from the premises of John Jackson, Ltd., timber miller. Some Nothing was taken from the ofhee of W. A. Petrie, builder. CHRISTCHURCH ROBBERIES. CHRISTCHURCH, October 3. The new East Linwood Post Office was among premises entered by burglars who concentrated on tne shopping centre in Linwood Avenue, near Buckley’s Road on Friday night. A jemmy was used to force the lock. It is not suspected that much is missing, and the safe was not touched. In the same block of shops, Maxwell’s fish shop was entered, and a small sum of money was taken. _ Attempts' were made to get into Seymour’s fruit shop and Railton s grocery shop _ . In another block, thieves forced open the street door of a tobacconist’s shop at 220, Linwood Avenue occupied by Mr. E. W. Cook. About £lO in cash was stolen.
