Last Irish Ties With Britain To Be Severed

LONDON, Oct. 3 The Prime Minister of . Eire (Mr John Costello) on his arrival from a tour of the United States and Canada said: “When the Dail Eireann reassembles next month, the .Eire Government will introduce legislation to abolish the External Relations Act, which means the severance of one ol the country’s last ties with the British Crown. “The Act was neither one thing nor the other, because His Majesty was never a symbol of co-operation, lhe Statute of Westminister was the symboy of free association. There can be plenty of co-operation with Britain on the basis of Republican forms or any other forms. This is a constructive and not a destructive proposal that will bring unity to our own country.”
