Health Stamp Sales £200 in Excess of First Day Last Year

The Grey district, first day sales of this year’s health stamps were £752 15s 6d. This total comprises the sales from Greymouth, and five other offices, Hokitika, Kumara, Ross, Runanga and Reefton. The Chief Post Office at Greymouth sold £463 0s 6d worth of the total, including £23 from the five local schools. Worthy of special mention Is the good response received from Camerons,- which office forwarded the sum of £27 10s.

The corresponding day’s sales last year amounted to approximately £5OO. The Chief Postmaster at Greymouth (Mr. H. C. Rowe), stated last evening that it was expected the provincial total will bs near the mark when the retuvns come to hand from all th© smaller offices.
