MR FRASER LEAVES FOR LONDON IN GENIAL MOOD
AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. Before boarding a flying-boat for Sydney to-day on his way to London, the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, said: “I think the speeches of Mr Bevin and M. Spaak will have a salutary effect, making the Russ’an Government realise the lim ts to which it can push its policy of negation and obstruction. This ..would be a major influence in ridding the world of fear and rearmament dangers. -. In a particularly genial mood, even ‘though he had to wait a half-hour before the seaplane left, Mr Fraser dnv’ted a reporter’ to walk with him from the waiting-room along the ■landmg to the flying-boat. When a .cameraman was about to "shoot” Mr Fraser asked the interviewer to take out his notebook, adding: "We will both be in this.” Then he asked what the reporter would like to know. "Give me your views on the prospects of war,” the interviewer requested. “I can’t,” Mr Fraser replied in an almost apologetic tone, conveying th e impression that diplomatic reasons prevented him from discussing the subject
