Situation: Pressure is low to the south-east of New Zealand. There is a ridge of high pressure over Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. on Friday: Strong south-west winds in most places. Weather cold and changeable. Fair periods in South Westland. Further outlook: Isolated showers.
