WAIKATO MINERS’ UNION DIFFERENCE

AUCKLAND, Sept 20.

To-day Alison and Rotowaro mines were idle. Stopwork meetings were held at all underground mines. xt is believed the matter discussed was a split, in the Northern Miners Union executive, which caused the president Mr T. Hall, and the secretary. Mr H. Hall, to resign, because of criticism of the handling of the recent disoute. . The meetings at the Abson and Rotowaro mines lasted until 10.30 a.m.. after which the men returned home, as it was too latg to make a start. All other mines are working though a meeting at the Renown mine lasted until 10 o’clock in the morning.
