The full powers to guarantee the security of the country against the Communist revolt in Republican Indonesia were given to President Sukarno by the Republican Parliamentary Working Committee, at an emergency meeting to-day. Dr. Sukarno was empowered to take measures outside of the law and standing regulations . The Antara News Agency says: A national independence front has been formed in Jogjakarta by the Moslem Party, the Masjumi, and the Republican Nationalist Party. The new organisation will support and safeguard the Republic, and will defend President Sukarno and Mr. Hatta. . All of the Leftist newspapers have been banned by a Government order.
