BLACK DIAMONDS’ FROLICS SHOW
The opening production of trie above on Saturday evening at Blackball was a most outstanding success from every angle. The box office receipts were an all-time record for the town, many being unable to gain admittance. The audience demonstrated its appreciation of every item in no uncertain manner, and this augurs well for the future success of the society. Mrs E. Taylor, the producer, did not. spare, herself in time or energy and the sincere thanks of the society and the public generally are due to her. At the conclusion of the show the president, Mr R. Buchan, thanked the members of the society, the cast, electricians, the stage manager and assistants, the wardrobe mistresses, orchestra members. Mr “Dusty” Rhodes, Mr V. Goodall. Mr A. McDonald (secretary-treasurer) and all others who assisted. He then called on Mrs Taylor, who although not fully recovered from a serious operation, courageously carried through her programme, and further suffused the cast with her enthusiasm. Mrs Taylor was presented with a bouquet of flowers as a token of the society s great esteem. She suitably replied. Mr A. McDonald very kindly treated the cast and other helpers to supner. The evening concluded with a dance.
