Britain’s deficit on overseas payments is declining, according to a ( for the first half of 1948. compared with a deficit of £630,000,000 for the W Thl on the United Kingdom gold and dollar resources during lhe first half of 1948 is provisionally estimated at £254,000,000, compared wit™ £1,024,000,000 in 1947, and £226 000,000 in 1946.
