LONDON, Sept. 12.
Horace Lindrum (Australia), Clark McConachy (New Zealand, Peter Mans (South Africa) and sex oral leading American players, are expected to take part in this year’s world professional snooker championships in London. Although some preliminary games have already been played, the new Rugbv season does not begin officially’' until September 18. No overseas visits are scheduled for this year, so the British Rugby Clubs will be able to concentrate strictly upon their own matches. Blackheath, this season, expect to have the services of J. A. Gregory, the- Olympic runner, though he will still continue to play whenever possible for his home team, Dublin Wanderers. Blackheath will open the London season on September 25, when they play Guys Hospital, while Harlequins will begin a week earlier when they will, meet St. Mary’s Hospital at Twickenham on September 18. John Horn, aged 16, the Essex junior and schoolboy champion, who has been an outstanding boy player in the national junior lawn tennis championships now in progress al Wimbledon, is being hailed by tennis writers as England’s best prospect since the early days of Fred Perry. Horn beat the Middlesex junior champion, Stephen Greenbury, who was regarded as his strongest opponent, by the convincing margin of 6-1, 6-1, in exactly half-an-hour. Eighty-two boys and 111 girls are taking part in the championships.
