Price Movement Shows Change
CANBERRA, Sept. 16 The Acting Commonwealth Statistician (Mr S. R. Carver) reveals that the prices of some Australian exports started to fall last July. The combined index for 20 items constituting 85 per cent, of the total value of Australia’s exports dropped by 1.2 per cent., in July. . The main reason for the fall is that wool prices were 3.2 per cent, lower than in June, and prices for hides 7.1 per cent., lower. .. „ July’s combined index was 44.3 per cent, above that for July of the previous year, and 292 per cent, above that for July, 1939.
