“Blackfella Business Ballyhoo”
When the first of five Convair aeroplanes being brought to Australia by Trans-Australia Airways arrived in Darwin at the beginning of September, a cameraman, to give more colour to the film he was taking, induced a number of aboriginals to dance around the Convair. Among those enlisted were labourers from the R.A.A.F. station at Darwin,, who wear uniforms issued by the R.A.A.F. and are very proud of them. After good-naturedly going through the antics asked of them—in near-to-native rig—the comment of the aborigines was: “Kuv-hair proper good hairplane, but this blackfella business proper ballyhoo.”
