HARIHARI NOTES
[Our own Correspondent] HARIHARI, Sept 17. The September meeting of Harihari W.I. was presided over by Mrs R. Ferguson, with a good attendance. All present read the aspirations. Mrs R. McMillan was appointed delegate to the federation meeting to be held in October. Mrs C. Hansen was elected a member of the Institute. It was decided that the £2 8s collected at the birthday party be spent on Christmas cakes for the link at Bishopstone. Mrs J. Nolan volunteered to pack the food parcel for Britain and to write the accompanying letter. , The wandering shilling was won by Murray Wyatt. Competition results were: traycloth made from flour bag Mrs D. P. Graham 1; Mrs Wyatt 2; Mrs W. Wall 3. Painted sack mat, Mrs P. Hansen. There was the- usual sprmg display of choice flowers and the standard was so high that the judging was very difficult. Mrs Wyatt and Miss Betty Adamson came equal for first place, with Mrs J. Searle second, and Mrs J. Minehan tnirtr. Birthday buttonholes for September were presented to Mesdames McKay ana McLaren, with the good wishes of the Institute. After the luncheon adjournment Mrs McLaren displayed a great variety of articles which she had made from felt, and demonstrated the making of a number of these. She was accorded a hearty vote of '-hanks.
