Nelson Land Board Decisions
West Coast business dealt with by the Nelson Land Board on Wednesday last included:— Grants of land approved:— Section 24, Carter’s Beach, 32 perches, William Lewis Austin, of Westport, carpenter; Section 72, Carter’s Beach, 32 perches, Maurice Arthur Braddick, Westport, builder; Section 14, town* of Buller, 33.3 perches, William Jones, Inangahua Camp. The transfer of timber .cutting rights over Section 23, Block V, Oparara S.D. (442 acres) Joffre Mervyn Tracey Lowe and Jones Timber Co., Ltd., Wellington, to the McCallum timber C., was approved; and the Board granted P. Longman an extension of one year from August 6 for his timber cutting permit over Part Section 12, Block 111, Mawheraiti S.D., 30 acres. The transfer from A. P. Svendsen To Allan. W. Uren, of Auckland, of Sections 73 a 74 a, 75 a and 76 a, at Westport Colliery. Reserve, containing 1 rood was adjourned for investigation. J. H. Chandler’s permit for Part Sections 19 and 21, Block VI. and Part Section 20, Block I, and Crown Land in Block I, Ngakawau S.D., 70 acres (approx.), was cancelled as at September 30. The transfer of Section 890, town of Westport, 1 rood, from Agnes Helen Hopkins to Arthur Clark, of Westport, hospital porter, was approved. The Board approved Inangahua County Council proposels for the expenditure of “Thirds” and “Halves” accrued to March 31. The Conservator of Forests’ proposals for the expenditure of “Fifths” on behalf of the Inangahua County Council proposals for the exfag March 31 and June 30.
