N.Z. Civil Aviation InquiryReference Terms
P.A. WELLINGTON, Sept. 16 The terms of reference of the mission to be led by Sir Frederick Tymms, who has been invited by the New Zealand Government to advise upon civil aviation in New Zealand were released to-day by the Minister in charge of the Air Department, the Hon. F. Jones. The mission has been asked to investigate and advise on whether any ■ change should be made, and, if so, what, in the organisation, administration and control of civil aviation, including in particular:— (a) The organisation of the Civil Aviation Branch of the Air Department and related services for the efficient discharge of the responsibilities of the Government in relation to civil aviation.
(b) Technical and administrative measures necessary to provide for the efficient, safe and economic operation of civil aircraft and air services, including the principles and procedure governing the issue of air service certificcites (c) The interpretation and application of the 1.C.A.0. proposals for international standards and recommended practices, having an immediate and important bearing on New Zealand civil aviation operations. (d) The standards required of aerodromes in New Zealand for the operation of internal and international civil air services, and the economic principles governing the provision of aerodromes and the air route tion(e) And generally upon matters incidental to the purposes of the mission. .
