AMMUNITION THEFTS IN AUSTRALIA

MELBOURNE, Sept. 16. Detectives arrested two men and charged them with the theft of ammunition valued at £3OOO from the Army dump at Mangalore, 60 miles from Melbourne. A third man has also been detained.

The first arrest followed a visit by detectives to a house at Footscray, where they recovered several thousand rounds of ammunition. A search is being made for other stocks of ammunition.
