COMMUNIST CLASH IN JAVA HALTED
(Rec. 9:20) BATAVIA, Sept. 15 A truce was reached yesterday between the two opposing armed organisations fighting in Surakarta re-) ports the Antara News Agency. Four-1 teen Indonesians were killed in fight-\ ing on Monday. No official information is given from the republican capital, Jogjakarta about the two organisations that have been fighting in Surakarta, but they are believed by reliable sources in Batavia to be two rival armed Communist youth movements. They are the Pesindo, which recently joined the official Communist Party, and the People’s Revolutionary Movement, led by expelled Com-i.i-.-.ms s. Itiuuonean 'ources in Batavia said that the Dutch military authorities of East Java had issued a warning to the Republicans, following minor clashes in five East Java towns. The Dutch warned that appropriate action would be taken if clashes continued. __
