WELLINGTON, Sept. 13. The management committee of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association has decided to approach the 1 professional tennis players, J. A. Kramer and R. L. Riggs (United States), Pancho Segura (Argentina) and D. Pails (Australia), to learn whether it will be possible to arrange for them to visit New Zealand in November. NEW YORK, Sept. 12. The defeat of Geoff Brown (Australia) by a little-known Filipino, Felicissimo Ampon, was the only upset of the day in the second round of the United States singles tennis championships. Ampon won 6/1, 6/4, 3/6, 7/5. Hopman (Australia) was eliminated by Richard Savitt. a young American college player 6/4, 6/0, 6/2. Sedgman beat Raymond Morris 6/0, 6/4, 6/2; Sidwell beat Sverre Lie 6/0, 6/3, 6/3; Quist beat Francis Shields 6/2, 6/1, 2/6, 6/4; Earl Cochell beat Fred Kovaleski 4/6, 8/6, 6/4, 6/4, 6/3. The last match lasted over two hours. Other Americans to win their matches were Parker and Mulloy. Sturgess (South Africa) and 'Enrique Morea (Argentina) also won. Tony Mottram (Britain) and Cernik (Czechoslovakia) were, eliminated.
