Future Of Britain’s Armed Forces
LONDON, Sept. 6
The Cabinet is meeting on September 9, when it will probably prepare an important statement on the position of men in the services. It is understood the Cabinet has so far decided in principle only on the ouestion whether demobilisation be slowed down and young men retained in the forces for perhaps a further -six months, making 18 months’ training in all. The Cabinet has already dealt with the short speech with which His Majesty will open the short session of Parliament on September 14. The speech will be one of the shortest on record. '
