Atom Scientist Purged In Britain As Communist
(Rec. 10.0) LONDON, Sept. 6 According to the Daily Express and Daily Mail, the purge tribunal has removed from his job, Dr Cabot Seton Bull, one of the top scientists at the Government atom station at Didcot, following War Office secret police allegation that he is a Communist. Dr Bull was working on the development of electronic robots to control uranium furnaces and the atomic explosive separation plant. (N.Z.P.A.—Reuter). (Rec. 11.45). LONDON, Sept. 6. Doctor Cagot Seton Bull said that the reports of his suspension from the Atomic Research Station because of his alleged Communist views were "substantially true.” Dr. Bull declined to make any further statement, “because,” he said, “the position is very delicate 1 for me, and can very well be misconstrued.” -
