NAPLES ARRESTS
NAPLES, August 31 Six hundred police arrested 100 people following, a search which uncovered large quantities of bombs, explosives, and petrol. The police detained but later released an. additional 900 persons. BOY'S CHANNEL SWIM LONDON, August 31 The 17-year-old Yorkshire schoolboy, Philip Mickman, who attempted to swim the English Channel, abandoned the attempt after twlve and a half hours in- the water. The sea became too choppy for him to continue.
