NEW TASMAN FLYING BOATS

BELFAST, Sept. 2. Air Vice-Marshal Sir Leonard Isitt, chairman of Tasman Empire Airways, inspected the first of the four flying-boats which are being built for the New Zealand-Australia service. The luxurious four-engined Solent will carry 35 passengers on two decks at a cruising speed of 220 miles an hour. They are expected: to be completed before 1949.
