PRINCESS EXPECTS BABY NEXT MONTH
Birth in London And Not Scotland (Received September 3, 10.10 p.m.) < LONDON, September 3. Princess Elizabeth lis expected to return from Balmoral with the rest' iof the Royal Family, at the end of this month. Her baby is due early in October, and preparations already going ahead at Bucklhgham Palace. The “Daily Mail” says: “This will dash Scotland’s hopes, but Princess Elizabeth has told the Scottish people that it is her special wish that London should be her baby’s birthplace. Princess Elizabeth’s baby, after it is born, will have a hundred-year-old cot and a pram used by Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret when they were babies. The cot recently was taken from the Palace attic, and has been newly painted and upholstered in white, which the Princess selected because it is suitable either for a boy or a girl.. The pram has been sent from Windsor Castle to a West End firm for renewal of the upholstery and repainting. Nurseries have been prepared at Buckingham Palace and also at Sunningdale, where, it is believed, the Princess will take the baby a month or six weeks after its birth. The Princess is in good health. She has been taking walks, and sewing baby clothes. Court circles say that she and the Duke are both hoping for a boy, although the Princess will not be disappointed if it is a girl.
