Swiss Professor Condemns Nationalisation

Western Nations Going Totalitarian ! (Rec. 10.0). AMSTERDAM, Aug. 31. All of the Western nations were headed towards totalitarianism, Dr Emil Brunner, of Zurich University, told a public meeting of the World Council of Churches. He said that Communism /was more dangerous than Capitalism, because it did not permit either of criticism or of correction. Totalitarian States were the “real social evil of our time”. The nationalisation of industry, he said, was a sure road to the totalitarian State, in spite of the democratic ideals and intentions of those who Kagated it. Once economy wa • malised, the totalitarian State was there, whether one wanted it or not.
