Injured Airways Employee Dies
AUCKLAND, August 30. An employee of Pan-American Airways, who suffered serious head injuries when a jeep he was driving was involved in an accident on Canton Island on July 7, died in the Auckland Hospital yesterday. He was James Frederick Harold aged 31, a son of Mrs B. C. Pullock, of Manurewa, Auckland. Bullock was employed on Canton Island as engineer in charge of the plant for distilling drinking water from the sea. The day after the accident, he was flown to Queen’s HospL tai, Honolulu. His condition improved sufficiently to enable him to be brought to Auckland Hospital by Fan American Clipper, Polynesia, in midAugust. Although he was unconscious on arrival, he had suffered no illeffects from the air journey.
