Aug. c 0 A delayed report says that insurgents and Burma troops fought a gun battle on a Mandalay bound train as it stood in the Pyu station, 120 miles north of Rangoon. Insurgents clambered aboard the train when it was stationary, and flred pn troops aboard. ‘The . troops tried to eject them. Eventually the troops beat off the insurgents, who cut telenhone lines and tore up railway tracks to prevent the arrival of reinforcements.
