CYCLING GREYMOUTH CYCLING CLUB

The Greymouth Cycling Club held a road race from Karoro to Kumara township and return on Saturday. Results:— T. Egan 1; A. King snr., 2; E. Patterson 3. E. McGuigan secured fastest time in 68min 54sec. The boys’ race resulted:—B. Wilson 1; D. Clark 2; K. Morgan 3. Southland Road Race P.A. INVERCARGILL, August 29. D. Humphries (Christchurch) had a well-merited win in the Gore-Inver-cargill road cycling race held on Saturday. Riding off the 16 minutes mark, he covered the 40-mile journey in one hour 49 minutes 52 seconds, beating T. Hackett (Invercargill) by three lengths. The fastest time was put up by E. Lynn (scratch) of Dunedin, his time being one hour 43 minutes. The first four placings were:— Humphries 1; Hackett 2; M. Cattermole (Avon) 3;- M. Spence (Christchurch) 4.
