BOXING

Woodcock Matched LONDON, August 27. Bruce Woodcock, the British heavy-weight boxing champion, has been matched against the American, Lee Oma, at Harringay on September 25. This will be Woodcock’s first fight since he broke his jaw in his bout with Joe Baski in April last year. Oma has beaten Baski, Gus Lesnevich, and Tami Mauriello, who beat Woodcock in America by a knock-out in the fifth round. In 1946, Oma went ten rounds with Jersey Joe Walcott.
