The British United Press correspondent at Hyderabad says: The British Government have .made plana to evacuate at 48 hours notice, 400 Britons and 200 Americans and Europeans from Hyderabad Native State in the event of war between Hyderabad and India occurring. KARACHI, August 27. The Governor-General of Pakistan (Mr Jinnah), in a proclamation states that a “grave emergency exists in Pakistan. He added that economic life was threatened by the mass movement of the population from and into Pakistan. Hindu Air Force Bombs Town In Kashmir State (Rec. 9.49). LONDON, Aug. 28. An official Indian military report says:—Royal Indian Air Force planes bombed the north-west Kashmir town of Gilgit “very effectively’ on Friday, says Reuter’s New Delhi correspondent. • Rocket-firing aircraft also attacked an airfield, wireless station and ammunition dumps. Front-line despatches describe the attack as the biggest and most concentrated one so made in the State of Kashmir. The attack was directed mainly against concentrations preparing to reinforce a column in Ladakh Valley, south-east of Gilgit, where the enemy is trying to organise a second front.
