No Coupons For Aid-Britain Scheme
WELLINGTON, Aug 9. “Coupons are not surrendered ror gift food contributed under the Aid to Britain bulk food scheme whether the food is of -the type rationed in Britain or not,” said Mr F. P. Walsh, chairman of the Aid to Britain National Council, to-day in reply to a statement made last month oy the Mayor of Auckland, Mr J. A. C. Allum, that coupons were asked for from the recipients of food sent under the bulk food scheme. “The report is definitely incorrect,” continued Mr Walsh. “Gift food sent in bulk is distributed through the Overeas Gifts Allocation Centre ot ihe British Ministry of Food and nj charge is made to the recipients, nop are coupons asked for.”
