BLOCKADE OF QUEENSLAND PROPOSED

By CommanistRuled Unions (Rec? 9.30). SYDNEY, Aug. 8. . Leaders of four Communist-domin-ated Unions will meet in Sydney tomorrow to plan a railway and a sea blackade of the State of Queensland by all of the other Australian States. To counter this the Queensland Premier, Mr Hanlon, has built up a stockpile of essential supplies, which will be rationed, if necessary. The Unions are planning their blockade to force the Government to free four Unionists and a barrister who have been gaoled for not paying the fines which they incurred in their recent strike demonstrations. The Unions in question control the Watersiders, the Seamen, the Engineer Railwaymen and the Engineers. The blockade will cut off practically all supplies of sugar from New South Wales.
