The funeral of the late Androv John Dillon, of Taipo Valley, Christchurch road, took place yesterday afternoon at Karoro Cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Monsg. J. Long conducted the service at St. Patrick s Chui ch, and also officiated at the graveside.

A cable from San Francisco says: “On Friday night Mr J.W. Heenan, the New Zealand Secretary of Internal Affairs, left here for New Zealandby a B.C.P.A. plane, after leaving here bn a visit to England to 1 confer with the Buckingham Palace authorities on the deails of next year's Royal visit. Mr Heenan said before leaving: “Everything is going according to plan in the smoothest way.’’ Also aboard the plane was Mr B. C. Ashwin, Secretary of the New Zealand Treasury, who has been on a mission London to arrange details of British imports from New Zealand, and Doctor R. G. Simmers, of the New Zealand Meteorological Department. after attending a conference in Seattle. —P.A.
