DARWIN’S ESSENTIAL BEER SUPPLY IS TOO COSTLY
DARWIN. August 6. Four bottles of beer daily were the minimum requirement for a working man in the Northern Territory, said the member for Tennant Creek, Dr. Webster, in the Northern Territory Legislative Council, during a licensing law debate. He added that he had reached his conclusion after a thorough investigation of the position. Beer is four shillings a bottle at Tennant Creek and thus the weekly supply, according to Dr. Websier’s requirements would cost only £1 a week below the basic wave.
