DOBSON MINERS’ UNION ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The Dobson Miners’ Union yesterday morning held their annual ballot for the election of officers for the ensuing term. The offices contested were those of President, Check Inspectors, Check Weighmen, Surface Delegate and Committeemen. For the other positions the following members had been re-elected unopposed: VicePresident, Mr W. Purdy; Secretary, Mr J. White; Delegate to Trades Council, Mr J. Malone; Delegate to Miners’ Central Committee, Mr R. Hall. The following are the results of the voting:— President—Mr A. Hoggarth (reelected) 102; Mr W. Whitfield 72; informal 13. tt ~ Check Inspectors.—Mr R. Hall (elected) 138; Mr W.’ Whitfield 93: Mr D. Curran 56; MrS.Gugum39; Mr V Harvey 32; informal 4. Surface Delegate.-u-Mr J. Stove (elected) 113; Mr A. Crawford 36; Mr T. Murphy 32; informal 6. Check Weighman.—Mr J. White (elected) 72; Mr J. Clarke 48; Mr W. Purdy 32; Mr S. Senior 7; informal 3. Committee (five required).—Messrs R. Hall 146, D. Curran 129; J. Casserley 123; W. Whitfield 107; V. Harvey 98 (elected); G. Wylie 93; J. Malone 83; S. Gugum 84; informal 9.
