LEAGUE FOOTBALL Schoolboy Tourney Cancelled Owing to Poliomyelitis
P.A. AUCKLAND, August 6. csn the advice of the Department of Health, the New’ Zealand Rugby League Schoolboy Council has decided to cancel the annual schoolboy tournament to have .been held at New Plymouth from August 23 to 28. Tho secretary of the Council wrote to the Minister of Health, enquiring if it would be wise to hold the tournament in view 7 of a continuation of the infantile paralysis epidemic. A reply was received stating that it wotdd be unwise to congregate toys at New Plymouth, and the Council decided to abandon the fixture.
