OTIRA’S EFFORT FOR NEEDY CHILDREN

Just over £B9 has been raised in the small township of Otira for the United Nations’ Appeal for needy children. Splendid work by the secretary, Mr D. A. Watson and chairman, Mrs S. Holt has been responsible for this fine effort. The final list of donations forwarded to the Mayor oi Kumara is:—Mr W .R. B. Cleave 10s; Mr W. Willis £1 10s; Mr R. S. Youngman £1; Mr E. Hardley, ss; Mr L. Youngman 10s; Mr K. T. McClymont £1; Miss L. C. Bell 10s; Mr E. P. Conaghan £1; Otira School children 9s 3d. Second donations were: Mr J. D. Scott £1; Miss H. B. Emmerson 10s; Mr C. Emmerson 10s; Mr and Mrs W. Bell 10s; Mr and Mrs E. T. Baxter 10s; Mr and Mrs R. Drake 10s; Miss K. T. Emmerson £1; Mr G. A. Mitchell 12s 2d.
